It may sound funny, but losing weight may be as easy as reducing the size of your dishes and utensils. Most of us have been conditioned to eat what is on our plate. But portion size has been shown to be the major culprit to weight gain and obesity. By keeping your bowls and plates smaller, you will be less likely to over eat. Also, using smaller utensils will encourage smaller bites prolonging the smaller meal and helping with digestion.
Remember that the average person gains between 6-11 lbs between thanksgiving and the new year holiday. Stay active during this time period investing in activities that you enjoy and will keep you moving. Make a new challenge for yourself to accomplish. For example, I will join a recreational soccer league for a season and do strength training two times a week for 6 months and then set a new goal for myslf.
